CHANGING OF ART. III.1 IN UEAA CHARTER

The new content of the UEAA Charter.
Considering the developments recorded at the level of UEAA activity in recent years, the need to reflect more accurately the current situation, to stimulate the involvement of member academies, but also of new academies, following the discussions within the Steering Committee, it was proposed to increase the number of UEAA SC members from a maximum of 9 to up to 12.
Following the decision of the XIIth General Assembly (Bucharest, 10 October 2024), article III.1 has been amended and the new version is inserted below, as follows:
Instead:
III.1 – The Steering Committee is composed of 7 to 9 Members, as follows:
a representative of the Member who hosted the previous General Assembly
a representative of the Member who will host the following General Assembly
Members elected by the General Assembly, half of whom must be renewed every two years. The election is by absolute majority of those present at the Assembly.
The new version is:
Art. III.1 The Steering Committee is composed of representatives of up to 12 Member Academies, including:
a representative of the Member who hosted the previous General Assembly,
a representative of the Member who hosts the current General Assembly,
and a representative of the Member who will host the following General Assembly.
Members are elected by an absolute majority of those present at the General Assembly. One third of whom are renewed every two years. A renewable member may be candidate to re-election.
The President’s vote counts double in the event of a tie.
The new content of the Article has been inserted into the UEAA Charter.
