The French Academy of Agriculture (AAF) is an associated partner in the organization of the WAAP -EAAP -Interbull conference, which will take place in Lyon August 2023 (eaap2023.org/).

The meeting will address the question of “Climate change, biodiversity and global sustainability of animal production”. It has attracted an historically high number of abstract submissions: around 1200 for theater presentations within 96 sessions and around 700 as posters. More than 2000 delegates from 70 countries are expected on site and many others online.

The congress will start on Sunday, August 27th with a WAAP specific day, chaired by Dr Philippe Chemineau, president of WAAP. Two successive sessions with 6 speakers in each will address “Control of Green House Gas emissions in Ruminant farming” and “Biodiversity as a lever for sustainable animal production”. Two eminent members of AAF, Dr Jean-Louis Peyraud and Dr Michel Rieu, will respectively contribute as co-chair of those waap-sessions.

After this first day, 95 scientific sessions will run in parallel on site, all WAAP sessions being broadcast live streaming.

With the financial contribution of Crédit Agricole Ile de France Mécènat, AAF has awarded support to 3 young scientists attending the conference.

More than ever: Lyon in August 2023 is the place to be, whether in person or online!
